While I would likely never choose to purchase a hatchback like this, I think it is sufficient evidence as to why Ford is experiencing a resurgence and other American automakers are still asking for bailouts: they are finally paying attention to design.
The new Ford Taurus (YES, the Taurus!) is a giant leap forward from the Crown Vic-inspired sleds of yore and the 2012 Focus, despite its hatchbackery, is another sleek addition to their lineup.
Here’s hoping that they continue to bring well-designed American cars to the market and not just reserve them for distribution in Europe.

Reblogging because I seriously can’t believe this is a Ford Taurus.
My first car was a Ford Taurus and I assure you it DID NOT look as sexy as this. Not even close. Plus the power steering fluid leaked so badly that I had to refill it everywhere I went. And it once overheated on the side of east Oakland, which I don’t recommend. Ever.

Word.  If the Mercury Sable I started out with looked like this I would have dated a LOT more in high school.  Who knows how life would be different?  **looking up and to the right while tapping temple***
